EP (57) Meghan Telpner: Building a Successful Health Brand Based on Personal Experience and a Love for Cooking

Creating a business that you are proud of and one that aligns with your own visions and values, takes time.

Trust me, Meghan Telpner would be the first to agree.

She has spent many years building up her business and personal brand; but thanks to a lot of patience and persistence, she's been able to build a company that she is truly proud of.

After many years of hard work - even times when only a few people would show up for her events (often one person would be her friend), she now has a company that allows her to connect with like-minded individuals, educate others and create her own schedule.

Was it easy - no. Was it worth it - absolutely.

Not unlike many people that now work in the health field, Meghan faced her own health issues at one point in her life. After being diagnosed with Crohns disease in her 20's by her doctor and being told there was nothing she could do about it, Meghan decided to take matters into her own hands.

With the belief that this wasn't true, and that she actually wouldn't have to deal with this disease for the rest of her life, she literally began studying nutrition and learning how to cook for herself in a way that properly nourished her body. Funny story here (but you have to listen to find out :))

It wasn't her original desire to work in the health field - she actually was working in digital marketing and advertising at the time her health issues occurred. However, once she realized that food could heal you from the inside out, she had this strong desire to teach others and show them what she uncovered.

She tested out many ways to get clients. She succeeded and failed along the way. And spent thousands of dollars doing it. Until one day, everything started to fall into place.

She now has an online school called The Academy of Culinary Nutrition, that students from all over the world sign up to be a part of. She's written two successful books and is a sought after speaker and blogger in the health world.

This took years to build. But she stayed focused on her vision, by not concerning herself with what others are doing. She doesn't work 80+ hours a week, and yet is able to accomplish endless tasks, while balancing a busy home life (little baby) and entrepreneurial partner.

If you tell her she can't have it all, she'll definitely say, "watch me" - and this is just the beginning.
