How Breathwork Transformed my World

"What the hell just happened?"

That's exactly what I thought after my first breathwork session.

Rewind to 2019, I had just lost my godmother (who was like another parent to me) after a botched routine surgery (IMO), and I was carrying around a ton of grief and anger that made me feel like I was living outside of my body.

I just didn't know how to shake it.

I felt like a walking zombie. Doing all the things, but not really living.

Since my mom works in the health field, she suggested that I look into breathwork to see if it might help release the grief cloud that was crushing me.

Initially, I was completely uninterested in the suggestion, but I eventually came around and started looking into it. At the time, I had never even heard about it before.

But I found a weekend course and that was it.

In one weekend, my life flipped upside down - in a good way!

As someone who has been in all types of therapy since the age of nine after my parent's divorce, this experience left me with few words.

✨my body was tingling for over an hour
✨I felt lighter and more at ease
✨The grief cloud - although still there - didn’t feel so heavy
✨I released a lot of the anger I was carrying around (it was still there, but it wasn’t as dominant)
✨I felt more present and alive ( a feeling I hadn't felt in months)

But all I could think was “what the hell just happened…?”

And that was just after ONE session.

It was in that moment that I learned how powerful our breath can be. Because of that, I decided to pursue this modality in more depth and became a breathwork facilitator.

I’m trained in a style of breathwork known as Clarity Breathwork and my teachers Dana and Ashanna were amazing. The style is gentle and focuses on circular connecting breathing.

“Clarity Breathwork (formerly known as Rebirthing) is a powerful process of healing and transformation. It deeply supports the clearing away of old energies, patterns, conditioning, negative thoughts, and emotions and opens the doors wide for new life and greater consciousness. Most of us don’t breathe fully, we hold back the breath and have been doing so most of our lives. When we start to breathe fully and consciously, we are easily able to release what we have been holding and open to an incredible expansion of consciousness, including greater forgiveness and self-love. This inner change brings about shifts in our outer lives for the better.”

Breathwork is now just another powerful tool that I offer my clients who are looking for a deeper release in my coaching programs.

And so I put this to you: if you’re dealing with grief, anger, burnout, anxiety, emotional freeze, a big change or going through a major life transition and you know you need some type of support - please reach out.

Not only do I offer 1:1 packages, which are more like therapy, but I also have a 6-week group breathwork program for women (Waitlist) where we work through specific themes in community to help you process what arises.

It’s now been six years since I experienced this huge loss, and I’ve realized that healing and grief aren’t linear. I still get slapped in the face with grief. But what I do know is that we aren’t meant to walk this path alone 💛

Seek out the support you need. It might just change your life in the best way possible.

💫 Don’t continue to suffer in silence.

Sending lots of love and healing your way,

Andrea xx
